Nasa has recently announced the Lunar Plant Growth Habitat Project, a plan to grow plants on the moon by 2015.  The experiment is designed to yield important knowledge about life’s long-term chances in space – including for us. If successful we will have the first lunar veggies…The Lunar Plant Growth Habitat, a team of scientists, contractors and students will work together “to create to develop a very simple sealed growth chamber that can support germination over a five-10 day period in a spacecraft on the moon”. They will start with basil, turnips and Arabidopsis (a floral plant used in sciences research). Now the human question is …how will change our relation to the most romantic of the natural satellites? Moon is one of the oldest symbols used by humanity. Mesopotamians, Phoenicians, Egyptian, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Pre- Islamic and Islamic, Ottomans, Christians, Hindus...You can find the Moon in the myths, in painting and drawings, in agriculture, in literature.. La Nasa ha recentemente annunciato il Lunar Plant Growth Project , un progetto che prevede  la sperimentazione di coltivazione di piante sulla luna entro il 2015. Un esperimento pensato per acquisire nuove conoscenze sulla possibile vita a lungo termine nello spazio per vegetali e umani. Se il piano andrà a buon fine avremo presto  primi ortaggi lunari…. Il Lunar Plant Growth Habitat, un team di scienziati, contractors e studenti lavoreranno insieme per creare e sviluppare un semplice contenitore ermetico che possa supportare la germinazione dei semi nello spazio lunare per un periodo di 5-10 giorni. Si incomincerà con basilico, rape e Arabidopsis (arabetta comune, una pianta usata come organismo modello per le scienze vegetali).  Ora la domanda umana è.. come cambierà la nostra relazione con il più romantico dei satelliti?
