La regione di Antalya è forse la più rinomata località turistica della Turchia. Situata nella zona sud occidentale turca, la costa si affaccia sul Mediterraneo. Qui storia e natura regalano dei paesaggi meravigliosi. Trovandomi in Turchia, ho deciso di trascorrere qualche giorno nella città di Antalya. (English version below). Ho scelto un albergo nella città vecchia (Kaleiçi), chiusa al traffico. Vicoli e stradine che si intersecano arrivando al blu del mare e all’ orizzonte le montagne. Un susseguirsi di botteghe artigianali, negozietti di spezie, bazar con souvenir  locali (e non),  pensioni, caffè e ristoranti che offrono “vista panoramica”. E il cibo? Per chi conosce la cucina turca sa quanto questa sia varia e ricca di ricette e tradizioni. Ma come purtroppo accade in molte località turistiche, i menu diventano anch’essi turistici. Fotocopie. Cibo qualsiasi, spersonalizzato e impoverito. Verdure ridotte a decorazioni. Meze (antipasti tipici turchi) svogliati e stanchi, spiedini di kebap serviti con patate fritte e ketchup…. Però do not worry! la vista è panoramica e non importa ciò che mangi! Goditi il tramonto sul Golfo…. Per fortuna però Behzat Baba e la sua signora Günay non si arrendono…il loro carretto con brace “ricoperto” da verdure fresche, menta e prezzemolo continua a servire unicamente panini con la köfte (tipiche polpettine speziate)  da arricchire a piacere con cipolle aromatizzate al sommacco, erbe aromatiche, cavolo rosso, cetrioli, rucola selvatica, cipollotti freschi……  Son Çare Köftecisi è una piccola oasi all’aperto dove la tradizione è “democratica”  e viene offerta anche al turista!   Tourist menu, panorama terrasse… The Antalya region is perhaps the most famous tourist destination in Turkey,  located in the south-western Turkish coast overlooking the Mediterranean. Here, history and nature offering some spectacular panoramas. Finding myself in Turkey, I decided to spend some days in the city of Antalya. I chose a hotel in the Old City (Kaleiçi) which is closed to traffic. Alleys and streets that intersect the blue sea with the mountains in the horizon. A series of small handicrafts shops, spices shops, bazaars with local made souvenirs (and not), pensions, cafes and restaurants that offer "panoramic view". And the food? Those familiar with Turkish cuisine, know how this is varied and rich in traditions and recipes. But as unfortunately happens in many tourist destinations, the menus themselves become “tourist”. Photocopies. Ordinary food, depersonalised and impoverished. Vegetables reduced to decorations. Meze (typical Turkish appetizers) lethargic and tired, kebab skewers served with French fries and ketchup ....But do not worry! the view is panoramic no matter what you eat! Enjoy the sunset over the Gulf .... Luckily Behzat Baba and his wife Günay do not give up… their barrow with a brace "covered" with fresh vegetables, mint and parsley continues to serve only sandwiches Köfte (typical spicy small meatballs) that can be enriched with onions flavoured with sumac , herbs, red cabbage, cucumber, wild rocket, fresh spring onions ...... Son Care Koftecisi is a small outdoor oasis where the tradition is "democratic" and it is offered to tourists!
